I really struggled to finish The Law of Nines and Empire, because the preachy tone of both was infuriating and pretty contrary to my personal paradigm. On the other hand, I LOVED First Meetings, Temeraire, A Madness of Angels and Guardian of the Dead. And any book by Terry Pratchett is entertaining.

Did you read the whole Temeraire series or just the first one (His Majesty's Dragon)? I love them sooo much, especially books 4 and 5! Temeraire <3 Also Guardian of the Dead is really wonderful, too.

Just the first one so far! (It's the UK edition, so was simply called Temeraire.) But I picked up Throne of Jade and Black Powder War from the library recently, so I'm about to start on them.

It makes me grin to think that I've often picked the book up in stores & read the blurb, but never actually got around to buying it. It took a friend to loan me a copy before I actually read it... And it was SO GOOD!
